Two Challenges - One Fic: Ain't I economical! In answer to Bren's 'Into The Closet' Challenge on rebels_n_outcasts and Gail's challenge to write something light and humorous for Watchergirls. Look out, because this is really silly. *g*

Title: In The Dark
Author: Kath vze25s65@verizon.net
Disclaimer: I'd hardly think anyone would care, but I don't own any of this.
Rating: PG
Summary: It doesn't really need one.
Feedback: LOL!
Distribution: *snicker* I can't possibly understand who, but sure.
Notes: Takes place at the Hyperion. My first dialog-only fic, and a really silly one at that.

=======================

"Hey Wes, watcha doin' in the closet?"

"Gunn, wait! Don't let the door..." (click) "..shut."

"Hey, it's pitch black in here."

*Sigh* "Yes, it is."

"How come you don't just turn on the light?"

"Because, one of the things I was in here to do was replace the light bulb."

"Oh. So where is it?"

"I don't know. I can't see."

"Oh." (sound of doorknob being rattled) "Uh, Wes, what was the other thing you were in here to do?"

"Fix the broken latch on the door."

"We're locked in?!"

"So it would appear."

"You're mighty calm about all this."

"What would you have me do?"

"I dunno." (sound of shuffling feet) "Not a very big closet, is it?"

"Not really."

"Don't suppose there's room for us to sit down."

"Not unless I were to sit in your lap....You're grinning at me, aren't you?"

"Yep!"

"I thought as much."

"What, you can hear me smiling?"

"Yes, Gunn. I have super-human hearing, and can hear your facial muscles moving."

"Yeah, and I got regular hearing and can hear your sarcasm."

"Duly noted."

"So, how about it?"

"What?"

"You wanna sit in my lap?"

"Charles!"

"Just asking."

"Gunn, what's that?"

"A screwdriver?"

"What's it doing *there*?"

"Where would you like me to put it?"

"I hardly think that's the point.

"Oh, but that's exactly what it is."

"Very funny."

"I thought it was."

"Are you going to move it?"

"Did you *want* me to?"

"Hmmmmm."

"Was that a no?"

"I'm thinking."

"I'll just leave it there then, until you've made up your mind."

"I suppose that would be best."

(sound of door being flung open)

"Ah ha! I thought I'd find you two in here."

"Er...hello, Cordelia."

"Hello yourself, Wesley Wyndham-Pryce. Honestly, I don't understand your fascination with closets. Can't you two get a room, like normal people? Someday Angel's gonna catch you, and I just hope I'm there to see it."

Cordy stomps off. Wesley turns and regards Gunn thoughtfully. "What do you think, Gunn? Shall we...?"

"...Close the door and wait for Angel to come?"

"Yes."

"Sounds like a plan to me." (door clicks shut again)
